Goal

The goal of RCE-Berlin is, to carry the theme of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) into society via a network of existing and evolving formal, non-formal and informal Competence Partners in the city of Berlin, and to enable young and grown up people to make efficient contributions to the achievement of the UNITED NATIONS’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Our focus is on Youth Leadership, enabling children and teenage youth to self-organize projects with relevant impact on lives and land, at and beyond school, as it has been common practice for 50 years in civic education of canada and the United States of America, where it is anchored socio-culturally and integral part of learning culture at thousands of schools.

Berlin’s regional challenges and potentials are considered, especially the young generation, securing water and biodiversity in the region surrounding Berlin, as well as the historic role for West-East and North-South relations and collaborative partnerships.
